50,000LBS OF FOOD PACKED BY… PINK LADIES, POODLE SKIRTS, LEATHER JACKETS … AND FEEDING THE HUNGRY

A big thank you to everyone who was part of the huge turnout for Tuesday’s final Rock N’ Box of 2010. The 50s-themed event drew more than 150 volunteers who really went to work on another warm September night in the warehouse.

When the night was through, more than 9,000 pounds of food was sorted for future Emergency Food Box packing while another 50,000 pounds of food was packed into more than 2,000 emergency food and pantry boxes for distribution to Arizona’s hungry.

St. Mary’s Food Bank could not do what it does without our amazing volunteers, and we thank everyone who donated time this summer to help those in the community who need a helping hand. We hope to see everyone again next May when we fire up the jukebox once again and Rock n’ Box the night away…
