JOHNSON CONTROLS PACKS EMERGENCY FOOD BOXES ON MLK DAY – Thank You!

Johnson Controls of Phoenix/Tempe teamed up with St. Mary’s Food Bank helping them box up food for the hungry in Arizona on Martin Luther King Day!!! Thanks to the group of 50 volunteers made up from JCI employees, their friends, and family members, we were able to box up 1,620 pantry boxes; a total weight of 34,020 pounds of food. Part of this team also sorted loose food, checking for expired items and product damage. This team sorted through a total of 21,739 pounds of food.

Others can help St. Mary’s Food Bank by pledging to lose weight, therefore helping our community gain! For every pound you pledge to lose, 11 cents will be donated from the Biggest Loser/Pound for Pound Challenge sponsors to “Feeding America;” enough to secure one pound groceries on behalf of local food banks. St. Mary’s Bank Alliance will also benefit directly from your pledge! If you pledge to maintain your current weight, .55 cents will be donated. It’s easy…. just go to www.pfpchallenge.com and choose St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance as your community Food Bank.
