St. Mary’s 10th Annual KIDS CAFE® OPEN Welcomes NEIGHBORHOOD RESTAURANTS as Presenting Sponsor for 2011 Golf Event

Locally Owned Parent Company of Zipps Sports Grills and Goldie’s Sports Cafe  Supports St. Mary’s Food Bank’s Mission Of Feeding Arizona’s Hungry Children

Phoenix – Celebrating a decade of feeding hungry children in Arizona, St. Mary’s food Bank Alliance’s Tenth Annual Kids Cafe Open welcomes Neighborhood Restaurants as its title sponsor for 2011.

The Kid Cafe Open is set for Friday, April 8 at The Wigwam Arizona in Litchfield Park. All proceeds from the event fund the Kids Cafe program, which provides thousands of afterschool meals at 30 partner sites around the Valley. More than a half million dollars has been raised during the first nine years of the tournament, providing 500,000 meals to children who might otherwise go hungry.

Family-owned and operated since 1993, the Scottsdale-based Neighborhood Restaurants operates eight restaurants – seven Zipps Sport Grills and the flagship Goldie’s Sports Cafe – throughout the Valley. A new Zipps location will open in April at 16th Street and Bethany Home Road. Committed to supporting the community that supports them, Neighborhood Restaurants will partner with St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance in the battle against childhood hunger in Arizona.

“We love being a local company championing local causes, and the issue of childhood hunger in Arizona is one that concerns us all,” Todd Goldman, Neighborhood Restaurants Managing Member. “More than 26 percent of Arizona’s children live in families at or below the poverty level and that number is still rising. We are happy to partner with St. Mary’s, the world’s first food bank, for this great event that will call attention to this issue. These are kids and families who are trying their best to do the right thing.”

St. Mary’s President and CEO Terry Shannon welcomed Neighborhood Restaurants as the new Kids Cafe Open sponsor, adding “Todd Goldman and his family have built their business on great food, great atmosphere and great customer service, and their community involvement is also an important component. We are overwhelmed at their decision to stand with us in our mission to feed Arizona’s hungry children, and look forward to a great day of golf on April 8.”

By the end of this year, the Kids Cafe program will almost double in size, increasing the number of daily meals from 2,400 to over 4,000, with further plans to expand to 10,000 meals and offer hot meals for the first time in the near future.

Sponsorships for the 10th Annual Kids Cafe Open, presented by Neighborhood Restaurants, are available at the Eagle ($10,000), Birdie ($5,000), Par ($2,500) or Tee ($1,000) level, and donations are welcome for the tournament’s silent auction. Foursomes are still available at just $800, which includes a tournament polo, a complimentary snack breakfast and lunch, spirits and other beverages and a great day of golf at The Wigwam Arizona.
